Our Children/Our Schools
A newsletter about New Jersey school funding and reform
Tell your legislator that you want property tax reform AND good education for all of our children. We are watching and we vote!

On July 19, 2006, parents, community advocates, and elected officials went to the State House in Trenton to watch the Joint Committee on Public Schools at work. Parents and children carried toy binoculars and telescopes to emphasize their message:   "We are here to focus attention on the educational needs of New Jersey’s children and to tell the state Legislature, ‘We are watching you!’"

You can send this message to your legislator too. Follow this link to find the e-mail address of your state senator and assemblyperson and send them this message:

Last week, all eyes were on property taxes and the budget. We want the legislature to know that we want property tax reform AND good education for all of our children and that we are watching.

Don’t think you can decide how to spend money on schools in some back room. That is not acceptable to the parents and citizens of New Jersey. We are watching and we will be watching every day until our kids – all of our kids - get what they need.
